Digipak Adverts

As part of the ancillary task I have an option to make a digipak advert. I would need to learn the codes and conventions to make sure that I make mine looking professional and follows popular artists adverts. The codes and conventions used include close-ups shots of the artist. This makes their face easily recognisable to the audience who would be interested for what the advert has to say. The Katy Perry advert is not a close and is a long shot. This challenges the codes and conventions but it works well for this artist because her style is very different to other people. For example she is more likely to have bright colours and large, outrageous sets.

Another code and convention is that they all feature the artist's logo which is their name. Again this makes it clear visible who they are to make the audience interested. This lets them know that a new album is being released and they would want to buy it when they can. Also the advert looks like the album which makes it easier for the audience to recognise it on a shop shelf.

Another code and convention is that they contain little information. On all of the adverts above there are around 4 lines which contains information which is straight to the point. It features the name of the album, when it's released and the name of a song featured on the album. This makes it very clear what is being advertised and fits the codes and conventions of all adverts. People won't stop to read a whole page of writing, and so little but informative information is key.
